Whitman Walker / Design Process
Insight: Whitman-Walker Health is a Federally Qualified Healthcare Center based in DC focused on delivering culturally-competent care with dignity, respect, and love with a specialty in LGBTQ health. Problem: The organization wanted a new website that matched the ethos of a new brand campaign around "We See You." Solution: Through one-on-one interviews, small group meetings and organization-wide surveys, we first focused on the varied organizational perspectives and any critical needs. The design process began with a two-day workshop with close to one hundred key stakeholders together to better understand the patient journey. From here, we worked collaboratively with the WWH team on multiple design directions, including custom illustration and icons, and facilitated discussions to move to the process toward approval, development, usability testing and final launch.
